Harold Kroto was a British chemist who received the Nobel Prize in Chemistry in 1996 for his research that resulted in the discovery of fullerenes.

John Cornforth was Australian, but the research that led to him winning the Nobel Prize in Chemistry in 1975 was associated with the University of Sussex. He received this recognition for his work on the stereochemistry of enzyme catalysis. Stereochemistry is the branch of chemistry that studies the three-dimensional aspects of molecules.
