in the last publication we highlight the main differences between doctorates in the United Kingdom and the United States, highlighting the duration of the course, costs and the opportunity to balance studies with social life. Now that we've presented the advantages, we want to make the idea of studying in the land of the queen even more irresistible: we list 14 scholarships focused on doctoral studies, to apply until February 2019.

Benefits may be full category, subsistence to fees and/or living allowance. It is worth remembering, however, that most universities in the United Kingdom recommend or require in the list of requirements that the candidate already has a master's degree.

Durham University
1. Faculty of Arts and Humanities Doctoral Scholarships – Students who will pursue a doctorate in the Arts and Humanities department can apply for a full scholarship until January 9th.
2. Faculty of Science Durham Doctoral Studentships – For doctoral students in the field of Science, this scholarship is entirely full and is available for application until January 16th.
3. Faculty of Social Sciences & Health Doctoral Scholarships – Doctoral students in Social Sciences and Health have the chance to win a full scholarship. Applications until February 22.

University of Essex
4. School of Computer Science and Electronic Engineering PhD Students – Aimed at doctoral students in Computer Science and Electronic Engineering, the scholarship is full for Europeans, which covers tuition and helps with living expenses. For international students, however, an extra fee of around £4,300 is required for non-Europeans. Deadline is January 11th.
5. University of Essex Psychology Doctoral Scholarship – For PhD students in Psychology, the scholarship works in the same way as the one above: full-time for European and international students must pay a fee of around £4,300. Deadline is February 4th.

University of Leeds
6. Leeds Doctoral Scholarships – Doctoral students in Engineering, Mathematics or Physics can apply for a full scholarship until January 11th.
University of Warwick
7. Chancellor's International Scholarships – International students pursuing a doctorate in any of the university's departments can apply for a full scholarship until January 18th.
8. PARENTS PhD Studentship – Anyone starting a PhD in Political Science or International Relations in 2019 can apply for a full scholarship until January 18. Women are given priority, as a way of encouraging the low presence of gender in this area.
9. Feuer International Scholarship in Artificial Intelligence – Also a full scholarship, the benefit covers PhD students in Artificial Intelligence, including cost of living and allowance for travel and equipment. Deadline until January 31.
10. PhD Fellowships in Psychology – Benefit offers five places for PhD students in Psychology, covering tuition and living expenses for Europeans. International students must pay an extra fee of around £4,300. Deadline is February 3rd.
11. School of Law Research Scholarships – Doctoral students in Law have the opportunity to earn a full scholarship. Applications until February 28.

University of York
12. Wolfson Postgraduate Scholarships in the Humanities – Focused on doctoral students in the History, Language or Literature departments, the benefit is full and covers, in addition to tuition and living expenses, some training costs. Deadline until January 23.
13. Electronic Engineering Departmental PhD Studentships – Aimed at Electronic Engineering students, the scholarship provides a grant of £4,345 for fees and £14,777 for living expenses for Europeans. In the case of international students, the scholarship is of the same value, but must pay some mandatory fees for non-Europeans. Deadline until January 31.
14. York Graduate Research School Scholarships – Doctoral candidates from any department of the university can apply for one of the four full scholarship openings until January 31st.
